Piano Rapture Studio is a piano studio directed by Jessica Young and located in Syracuse, UT. This studio is dedicated to teaching students to become well-rounded musicians. Lessons have a strong emphasis on music theory, piano technique, piano repertoire, and sight-reading. Music history, ear-training, ensemble playing, composing, and other musical topics are included as well. One goal of Piano Rapture Studio is to help students learn to love making music and to perform musically. Expectations are high and students learn to work hard and stay dedicated.
Jessica Young has been an independent music teacher for over 15 years. She received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Weber State University and is also a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teachers National Association. She has worked as adjunct faculty at Weber State University teaching piano and teaches piano in her private studio, Piano Rapture.
Jessica believes strongly in strengthening the music community. She has served for many years in the Utah Music Teachers Association, holding positions on the state board and on local chapter boards. Her students are often involved in and have been enriched by the different competitions, festivals, and performance opportunities provided in the music community. Following her example, many of her students also give back by sharing their talents with the community. Jessica also hosts multi-studio recitals. In these recitals her pedagogy students and their students all participate, showcasing their teaching and performing abilities.
Jessica lives in Syracuse, Utah with her husband Brandon. She is a mother to four young children. She loves to watch her kids learn and grow in the different activities they are involved in. As a family they enjoy camping, boating, swimming, biking, hiking, and swinging in the backyard. She also enjoys running, crafting, and participating in triathlons, running, and biking events and races.
